As the NI Football League reaches the business end of another memorable campaign, excitement for the drama of the playoffs is already building!
The NI Football League can now confirm the dates for the end of season playoffs across the three divisions, so here’s your guide to each of the NIFL playoffs:
The popular European Playoff series will kick off in May with the final place in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Conference League up for grabs.
The European Playoff entrants will be determined by final league positions and the outcome of clubs receiving UEFA licences, later this month.
Scenario One
Should all clubs receive a UEFA licence, the semi-finals will take the following format:
• 4th v 7th
• 5th v 6th
Scenario Two
Should the 7th ranked club not receive a UEFA licence, the path to the Playoff Final will take the following format:
• 4th placed club BYE to the European Playoff Final
• 5th v 6th
Semi-Finals
Wednesday 1 May 2024 (kick-off: 7.45pm)
Final
Monday 6 May 2024 (kick-off: 3pm)
For any final the highest ranked club in the regular season will be at home.
First Leg – Tuesday 30 April 2024
Championship 2nd vs Premiership 11th
Second Leg – Friday 3 May 2024
Premiership 11th vs Championship 2nd
Please note that if the winners of the Playr-Fit Championship do not receive a Premiership licence, then the Championship’s 2nd ranked club will play Premiership’s 12th ranked club.
In addition, should the Championship’s 2nd ranked club not receive a Premiership licence, then next highest ranked Championship club will then play the Premiership’s 11th ranked club.

Premier Intermediate League 2nd vs Championship 11th
Second Leg – Friday 3 May 2024
Championship 11th vs Premier Intermediate League 2nd
