Larne have taken a huge step to retaining the Sports Direct Premiership title following their 1-1 draw against Linfield at Windsor Park.

The Invermen now go into the final game of the season with a three point lead over rivals Linfield, with a superior goal difference.

Linfield took the game to their opponents in the opening stages and took the lead after 21 minutes when Kirk Millar's corner was turned into his own net by Leroy Millar.

Larne equalised on 35 minutes, as Tomas Cosgrove was brought down by Joel Cooper in the penalty area, this allowed Andy Ryan to step up and level the scores from the resulting penalty.

Braiden Graham had a great chance early in the second half but he fired his header over the bar from Kirk Millar's cross three minutes into the second half.

Larne soaked up the pressure in a tense second half and held out from an onslaught of Linfield to secure a vital point, that takes Larne within touching distance of back-to-back Premiership titles.
