Cliftonville's Caitlin McGuinness challenges at Solitude

Glentoran Women, Cliftonville Ladies and Sion Swifts Ladies continued their perfect start to the new Sports Direct Women’s Premiership campaign with Friday night victories to make it three wins from three.

Glentoran lead the way on goal difference after hitting seven goals without reply past newly promoted Larne Women at Inver Park.

Joely Andrews opened the scoring with just over ten minutes on the clock before two goals apiece from Kerry Beattie, Nadene Caldwell and Caragh Hamilton saw the Glens sweep to a comfortable victory.

Defending champions Cliftonville recorded the same scoreline over Mid Ulster Ladies at Solitude.

Fionnula Morgan kicked things off on eight minutes, with Caitlin McGuinness doubling up on the half-hour mark. An own goal, followed by further strikes from Morgan and McGuinness saw the Reds open up a commanding lead before Abbie Magee and Hannah Doherty added to the tally late on.

Early goals from Teegan Lynch and Caoirse Doherty saw Sion Swifts race into a strong lead at home to Lisburn Ladies. Saoirse Healey then added a third early in the second half before Jemma White bagged a consolation for the visitors with 20 minutes remaining.

Linfield Women made it two wins on the bounce with a 5-0 defeat of Ballymena United Women at Midgley Park.

With a three-goal advantage at the break courtesy of Keri Halliday, Rachel Kerr and Emily Reid the Blues went on to add to their lead in the second half with goals from Rhyleigh Marks and Sarah-Jane McMaster.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday night, Crusaders Strikers kicked the week off with a five-goal win over Derry City Women at Seaview.

Caitlyn Hamilton broke the deadlock midway through the first half, Faith Johnston helped herself to a goal either side of the break while Rachel McLaren and Leah McEvoy also found the net.
