The Women’s Premiership League Cup has reached the last four following victories for holders Sion Swifts Ladies, Cliftonville Ladies, Linfield Women and Crusaders Strikers in tonight’s quarter-finals.

Sion continued their defence of the trophy with a four-goal haul past Mid Ulster Ladies at the Melvin Sports Complex.

Aoibhe O’Neill opened the scoring after 11 minutes from the spot, with Caoirse Doherty doubling up soon after.

That was how it stayed until the final ten minutes when Kerry Brown found the net via a deflection before Zoe McGlynn wrapped the scoring up right at the end.

The big game at Solitude saw the top two in the league go head-to-head with three second half goals ensuring Cliftonville progressed at Glentoran’s expense.

Scoreless at the break, Marissa Callaghan broke the deadlock with an effort into the top corner on 50 minutes. She then scored in off the underside of the bar before the hour with Hannah Doherty sending home a corner on 73 minutes to complete the scoring.

Linfield were the top scorers on the night, both collectively and individually.

The Blues hit five past Lisburn Ladies at Midgley Park, with Carla Devine bagging a hat-trick.

Mia Moore edged Linfield in front as early as the fourth minute with Devine knocking home her first of the night five minutes after that.

Devine bagged Linfield’s third with less than a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock with Moore then hitting her second only minutes later. That was how it stayed until Devine claimed the match ball with a couple of minutes remaining.

Crusaders complete the semi-final line-up thanks to a 4-0 defeat of Derry City at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena.

A goal either side of the break from Darcie McNeill and Lisa Armour edged the Crues in front before Rachel McLaren extended their advantage just after the hour. Amy McGivern then wrapped things up midway through the second half.
