There’s just goal difference between leaders Loughgall and second placed Annagh United in the battle at the top of the Lough 41 Championship.
The Villagers were held to a scoreless draw away to Knockbreda despite creating a number of chances throughout the game with Nedas Maciulaitis, Ben Murdock, Jackson Holmes, Robbie Norton and Nathaniel Ferris among others all threatening.
Annagh handed their hopes a huge boost with a 2-1 victory over Newington at Solitude.
Odhran Smyth needed just a couple of minutes to open the scoring after combining well with Ruairi McDonald, before McDonald himself doubled the visitors’ lead just before the hour with a composed finish into the corner.
Warrenpoint Town put the brakes on HW Welders’ recent resurgence with a 3-1 victory at Milltown.
Ryan Swan kicked the scoring off on 19 minutes, but Michael McLellan levelled a few minutes later. Swan restored Town’s lead early in the second half before Adam Carroll added a third just a couple of minutes after that.
Bottom of the table Dergview did their survival hopes a world of good with a four-goal thumping of Ballyclare Comrades at Dixon Park.
Graham Crown fired Tommy Canning’s charges in front inside the opening ten minutes, Mikhail Kennedy added a second midway through the first half with Crown doubling his tally before the half-hour mark. Jamie Browne then made it 4-0 on 64 minutes.
Dundela picked up their first league win in five outings with a William Faulkner inspired victory over Ards at Wilgar Park after he thundered home the only goal of the game with a quarter-of-an-hour left on the clock.
Meanwhile, John Edgar also bagged the only goal of the game at Ferney Park as Ballinamallard United edged past Ards.
