Loughgall continue to lead the way at the top of the Lough 41 Championship, signalling their intent with a four-goal victory over HW Welders at Lakeview Park.

There were also significant victories for Newington, Ballinamallard United, Warrenpoint Town and Institute on a high scoring afternoon that produced over four goals per game.

The Villagers opened the scoring with less than a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock through Benji Magee before Andrew Hoey doubled up just before the break. The unfortunate Callum Byers turned a third into his own net just short of the hour with Mark Patton wrapping things up in the closing minutes.

Three goals late in the game saw Ballinamallard United defeat Ards 4-1 at Ferney Park.

The sides traded goals midway through the first half when Caolan McAleer's opener was swiftly cancelled out by Ross Hunter. Shane McGinty edged the Mallards back in front from the spot late in the second half before stoppage time efforts from John Edgar and McGinty again made sure for the home side.

Newington swept to a 5-2 victory over Ballyclare Comrades at Solitude. Darren Stuart knocked home a double inside four minutes midway through the first half although Calvin McCurry did pull one back for the Comrades before the break.

But the Swans turned the screw early in the second period through Robbie McVarnock and Gary Warwick, with Warwick then doubling his tally later in the game. Darius Roohi grabbed a late consolation for the visitors.

Institute hit three goals without reply past Dergview at Darragh Park to pick up their first win of the campaign. Jamie Dunne opened the scoring early in the second half, and doubled up with just over a quarter-of-an-hour remaining. Cormac Burke then added a third from the spot late on.

And it was a late goal that saw Warrenpoint Town edge out Knockbreda at Breda Park. Fra McCaffrey had given 'Point the advantage at the break but Cillin Gilmour levelled from the spot late in the second half. However Luke Walsh popped up in stoppage time to claim the win for Barry Gray's side.
