The fifth round of fixtures in the Danske Bank Premiership produced weekend victories for Coleraine, Linfield, Glentoran and Cliftonville whilst there were draws at Seaview and Mourneview Park.
Glentoran returned to the top of the table on Saturday afternoon thanks to a three-goal defeat of Newry City at The BetMcLean Oval.
Scoreless at the break, Bobby Burns opened the scoring for the Glens with around 20 minutes remaining, just before Ally Roy added a second - his first goal for the club - with Patrick McClean then completing the scoring a few minutes from time.
Coleraine had led overnight courtesy of a 5-0 thumping of Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park. Kieran Farren, Matthew Shevlin, Jamie Glackin and Michael McCrudden all found the net for the Bannsiders in addition to the unfortunate Caolan Marron - on his Swifts debut - turning the ball into his own net after just ten minutes.
Champions Linfield swept to a 4-0 win over Ballymena United at The Showgrounds.
Joel Cooper kicked the scoring off a few minutes before the break, with Kirk Millar doubling Linfield's lead on the stroke of half-time. Then, after the interval, two goals around the hour mark from Chris Shields - a penalty - and Robbie McDaid saw the Blues secure a comfortable three points.
Cliftonville maintained their winning streak with a 2-1 victory over Portadown at Shamrock Park. Ronan Hale opened the scoring as early as the third minute before Ryan Curran added a second midway through the first half. Jordan Jenkins did pull one back a short time later but the Reds held on to claim a fourth straight win.
Ten-man Glenavon held out to claim a point at home to Carrick Rangers.
Matthew Fitzpatrick had fired the Lurgan Blues in front early on but Andy Mitchell levelled for the visitors with a powerful finish from distance five minutes after that. Eoin Bradley restored Glenavon's lead before the break, but Gary Hamilton's side suffered the dismissal of Robert Garrett just before the hour with Curtis Allen then bagging Carrick's equaliser barely three minutes after that.
Meanwhile, on Friday night, Crusaders and Larne shared the spoils at Seaview. Philip Lowry edged the Crues in front on 65 minutes but Leroy Millar levelled on 80 minutes for the visitors.
