Twelve Danske Bank Women’s Premiership stars featured as Northern Ireland Women secured an impressive 1-0 victory at home to Italy on Tuesday night.
Sarah McFadden scored the only goal of the game for the home side in a match which saw local-based players starting the match.
Captain and Cliftonville Ladies star Marissa Callaghan was joined by teammate Kelsie Burrows in the starting line-up as Reds quartet Kirsty McGuinness, Caitlin McGuinness, Louise McDaniel and Toni-Leigh Finnegan all came from the bench.
Glentoran Women trio Nadene Caldwell, Chloe McCarron and Caragh Hamilton all started the game with teammate Joely Andrews appearing as a second half substitute, with Crusaders Strikers duo Emily Wilson and Julie Nelson also featuring.
Four other stars were unused substitutes for the game – Glentoran Women striker Kerry Beattie being joined by Cliftonville Ladies trio Danielle Maxwell, Fi Morgan and Abbie Magee.
The well-earned victory capped a memorable year off in style for the international team after their participation in the European Championships over the summer.
