The Danske Bank Women’s Premiership continues on Wednesday night as we enter gameweek six of the 2022 campaign.
The biggest game of the campaign to date is at Solitude as league leaders Cliftonville Ladies host champions Glentoran Women, who are two points off the Reds at the top of the standings.
Cliftonville Ladies have won all five of their opening games but the Glens were held to a draw last week at Sion Swifts Ladies to open up a small margin ahead of the clash in North Belfast.
Elsewhere, Crusaders Strikers and Linfield Ladies face trips to newly-promoted duo Mid Ulster Ladies and Lisburn Ladies respectively, while there is a north-west derby as Derry City Women host Sion Swifts Ladies.
All kick-offs are 7.45pm unless otherwise stated.
Cliftonville Ladies vs Glentoran Women, Solitude
The Glens pipped Cliftonville to last season’s league title and these two sides, packed full of Northern Ireland internationals, look set to go toe-to-toe again this campaign.
Cliftonville have won all five league games to date while Glentoran’s perfect record ended with a draw at Sion Swifts Ladies last time out.
The East Belfast side have lost just once in their last 14 meetings against the Reds, but that was a 4-2 early season defeat at Solitude last season.
With 38 goals across the last eight meetings between the sides, expect another end-to-end encounter.
Derry City Women vs Sion Swifts Ladies, Brandywell
Sion Swifts are bang in-form – since their opening day lost against Cliftonville, they are unbeaten in four games and have drawn against both Linfield and Glentoran.
They face a trip to Derry City who have lost just one of their last three Premiership games and even that could have been a different outcome – last week they led Linfield 1-0 with 11 minutes remaining before the Blues secured a late victory.
The Candystripes beat Sion 1-0 at the Brandywell in an early-season meeting last campaign and three of the last four meetings have seen the sides separated by just one goal – expect a similarly close-fought match this time.
Mid Ulster Ladies vs Crusaders Strikers, Mid Ulster Sports Arena
Mid Ulster prop up the early standings with just one point from their opening five matches but will be eyeing an upset against the Strikers this week.
The Crues have lost each of their matches on the road this campaign – against Cliftonville and Glentoran respectively – and are just a point outside the top four, with seven points from five games.
These two sides have never previously met in the top-flight.
Lisburn Ladies vs Linfield Ladies, Bluebell Stadium (8pm)
Linfield came from a goal down to win 3-1 away at Derry City last week and will be hopeful of building on that momentum with a trip to Lisburn.
The Blues had been frustrated earlier in the season by losing leads to draw against Crusaders Strikers and Sion Swifts respectively, but there are plenty of signs they will improve on last season’s fifth-placed finish.
Lisburn have just one point from their opening five matches but are above Mid Ulster at the foot of the standings on goal difference.
