A stoppage time winner ensured Linfield go into the post-split phase of the campaign on top of the Danske Bank Premiership on a weekend that also produced victories for Ballymena United, Crusaders and Glenavon.

The Blues travelled to face struggling Warrenpoint Town in a lunchtime kick-off in front of the Sky Sports cameras and fell behind after a quarter-of-an-hour when Steven Ball nodded home at the far post from Daniel McKenna's flick.

But a goal at the end of each half saw Linfield come through to secure the points. Jordan Stewart levelled in first half stoppage time before, in the 92nd minute, Ethan Devine grabbed the winner with a close range header.

Crusaders took a step towards consolidating fourth spot courtesy of a 4-2 win over Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.

The Swifts moved in front through Rhyss Campbell as early as the fourth minute but goals from Adam Leckey and Paul Heatley tipped the balance if favour of the Crues by the half-hour mark.

That was how it stayed until the closing stages of the game when Heatley added a third, just ahead of a Brandon Doyle finish whilst Ben Gallagher notched up a late consolation for the home side.

Glenavon picked up a big three points in the battle for a potential European play-off spot with victory over Coleraine at The Showgrounds.

Gary Hamilton's side raced into an early lead through Peter Campbell with just over a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock before second half strikes from Matthew Fitzpatrick and Jack O'Mahoney put the visitors firmly in the driving seat.

However the Bannsiders fought back with goals from Kirk McLaughlin and Curtis to set up a grandstand finish, but they were unable to salvage something from the game.

Meanwhile, on Friday night, Ballymena United went to Larne and emerged 3-1 victors over their neighbours. David Parkhouse opened the scoring for the Sky Blues after four minutes but this was cancelled out by Ben Doherty a few minutes later.

But Leroy Millar edged United back in front with a 58th minute spot-kick before Parkhouse made sure with his second of the game just over ten minutes later.
