The Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association has named Linfield’s Chris Shields as Danske Bank Player of the Month for December.
It’s the second time the midfielder has lifted the awarded this season. Earlier in the year, he claimed the September prize.
In December, Chris helped Linfield to league victories over Coleraine, Larne and Ballymena United.
Ex-Dundalk man Shields said: “It’s an honour to win this award for a second time. I’d like to thank Danske Bank and the NIFWA for the trophy.
“I think my form shows that I’m enjoying my football and that I’m helping the team. We’ve been on a great run of form. It’s an exciting season, as Glentoran and Cliftonville are also in great form, with Larne and Crusaders nipping at their heels as well.
“It’s a great league to play in. I’m really enjoying my time, here.”
Glentoran’s Jay Donnelly was runner-up, while Cliftonville’s Ryan Curran was third.
