Ballinamallard United were the big winners following another round of Lough 41 Championship action which also produced victories for H&W Welders, Dundela, Institute and Queen's University.
The Mallards made the most of leaders Newry City's home defeat to the Welders on Friday night to close the gap on Darren Mullen's side to three points. Simon Warrington, on his return to the club, marked the occasion with two first half goals to ultimately secure the points from the visit to third placed Annagh United.
The weekend had kicked off on Friday evening when the Welders travelled to Newry and came away with the points courtesy of a stoppage winner when a stray backpass went past the home keeper.
Dundela came from behind to get the better of Ards at Clandeboye Park. Recent signing Gary Donnelly had given the home side the lead around the half-hour mark before Dee Fearon levelled on 58 minutes. Rhys Annett then scored twice in five minutes midway through the second half to secure the win for Niall Currie's charges.
Another of the bottom three, Institute, also fought back to defeat Ballyclare Comrades at Dixon Park. Liam Hassin fired the Comrades in front after just ten minutes but goals late in the second half from Brendan McLaughlin and Mark McFadden earned the points for 'Stute.
And bottom of the table Queen's University picked up an important three points at home to Knockbreda thanks to goals from Leon Bonnes, Chris Middleton and Ciaran O'Hare.
Meanwhile, at Darragh Park, goals from Benny Igiehon and Nathaniel Ferris saw Dergview and Loughgall battle to a draw.
