No fewer than 14 Danske Bank Women’s Premiership stars have been named in the Northern Ireland squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Luxembourg and Latvia.
The standout team news is the inclusion of Mid Ulster Ladies goalkeeper Lilie Woods, who had previously been a part of the squad’s training camp ahead of Euro 2022.
Seven players from league leaders Cliftonville Ladies are included, with sisters Caitlin and Kirsty McGuinness joined by captain Marissa Callaghan, winger Louise McDaniel and defensive trio Toni-Leigh Finnegan, Abbie Magee and Kelsie Burrows.
Glentoran Women quartet Joely Andrews, Nadene Caldwell, Chloe McCarron and Kerry Beattie are also included, along with their former teammate Lauren Wade – who left the East Belfast club to join WSL side Reading this month.
Crusaders Strikers duo Julie Nelson and Emily Wilson complete the local-based representation on the panel.
