The Villagers remain in pole position on goal difference following a 3-0 defeat of Knockbreda at Lakeview Park. Jamie Rea edged Dean Smith’s side in front at the break before goals in the second half from Benji Magee and Nathaniel Ferris secured the points.
Annagh were forced to come from behind to beat Ards at the BMG Arena. Ross Arthurs opened the scoring early in the second half but Stephen Murray levelled. Summer signing from Armagh City, Conor Mullen, then bagged the winner in stoppage time.
But undoubtedly the comeback of the night belonged to Newington who powered back from three goals down to earn a point from Institute’s visit to Solitude.
Remarkably ‘Stute went 3-0 ahead inside the opening 20 minutes when quick fire goals from Cathair Friel, Jamie McCormick and Jamie Dunne blasted them into a commanding lead. However the Swans clawed one back courtesy of Gary Warwick’s spot-kick just after the half-hour mark before Aodhfionn Casey and Francis Rice struck early in the second half.
Warrenpoint Town left it very late to salvage something from HW Welders at the Blanchflower Stadium. Stephen Garrett made the most of a defensive error to open the scoring midway through the first half, a lead they held until stoppage time when Alan O’Sullivan bagged a last gasp equaliser for Barry Gray’s side.
Ballyclare Comrades hit two goals without reply past Dundela at Wilgar Park. Calvin McCurry found the net after 20 minutes with Darius Roohi knocking home number two nine minutes after the interval.
Meanwhile, at Ferney Park, the derby between Ballinamallard United and Dergview ended scoreless.
