It was a good day to be on your travels in the Danske Bank Premiership with Larne, Glentoran and Portadown all recording away wins while Carrick Rangers snatched a stoppage time winner at home.

Indeed, Stuart King's side had to defeat Ballymena United from a goal down with ten men to claim the points that moved them into third spot in the standings.

Jonte Smith had given the Sky Blues the lead just after the half-hour mark with Carrick's afternoon worsening moments later when Stewart Nixon was dismissed for a challenge on Caolan Loughran.

But Alex Gawne levelled for the 'Gers early in the second before, deep into stoppage time, substitute Jordan Gibson pounced to knock home a dramatic winner.

Milltown was the scene of another comeback as Portadown recovered from two goals down to claim their first win of the campaign at the expense of Warrenpoint Town.

Goals from Greg Moorhouse and Kealan Dillon had handed 'Point a commanding lead with less than 50 minutes on the clock but the Ports roared back to level with two goals inside four minutes from Lee Bonis and Stephen Teggart midway through the second half.

Sammie McLeod then pounced with a back post header in the closing minutes to seal victory for Matthew Tipton's side.

Larne closed the gap on leaders Cliftonville to a single point with victory over Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.

The game got off to a frantic start with Darragh McBrien cancelling out Lee Lynch's opener both within the first ten minutes. Lynch struck again on 14 minutes with Mark Randall knocking home a third minutes later but Ryan Mayse pulled another back before the half-hour mark.

And that was how it stayed until ten minutes into the second half when David McDaid settled it with Larne's fourth.

Meanwhile, at Mourneview Park, Glentoran put their recent losing streak behind them with a 2-1 defeat of hosts Glenavon.

Luke McCullough had opened the scoring around the quarter-of-an-hour mark, a lead the Glens held until the 70th minute when Matthew Fitzgerald equalised. However, Jay Donnelly struck from the spot a couple of minutes after that to secure a first win in three outings for the East Belfast side.
