Gameweek six of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership saw big wins for Cliftonville Ladies and Glentoran Women, while Crusaders Strikers left it late to edge out Derry City Women.
Here is the reaction from some of the goal scorers from the winning camps.
Louise McDaniel, Cliftonville
“We obviously got two early goals which set us up really well but our pace dropped off a bit and we got a bit of a rollicking at half time.
“We conceded but got an early goal back again and that was important - obviously it was good for me to get on the scoresheet.
“Coming to Midgely Park is always hard but we’re just happy to come away with the three points.”
Kerry Beattie, Glentoran
“Usually we play at The Oval but the 3G pitch helped us, especially with the rain as we were able to zip the ball about.
“It was a tough game, especially when you are playing in that heat and trying to maintain that intensity.
“One of my goals at the start of the season was to be a top goalscorer in the league so hopefully I can get more.”
Emily Wilson, Crusaders
“All credit to Derry - they played very well and we weren’t ourselves, especially in the first half.
“It was only real in the final period that we started to play our best football in the game - and thankfully we got the goal right in the nick of time.
“The ball just came to my feet and I saw the gap in their defence, so I tried to get it out of my feet as soon as I could and get the shot off.”
