Glentoran Women, Linfield Ladies and Crusaders Strikers all recorded victories in the latest round of Danske Bank Women’s Premiership action.
Here is the reaction from all three games after another pulsating matchday which saw 13 goals fly in around the grounds.
Glentoran 4-1 Cliftonville
Kerry Beattie, Glentoran
“It was an excellent performance in a game we knew we had to win.
"Even though we were 3-0 up at half-time we had the mindset that it was still scoreless so we did not let our level drop.”
Nadene Caldwell, Glentoran
“Our aim is always to take one game at a time and to always aim for three points - that is what we expect.
"Now we want to build up a bit of momentum and push on from tonight.
“We knew how competitive the league would be this year with the quality throughout the teams.
“Everyone plays each other four times, it is a long season and it is good to get the consistency in our team now.”
Lauren Wade, Glentoran
“We just took this as another game.
“We knew we had to come out and player our own game, and we did that very well.
“You could see from the start we were up from it - we dominated possession and got the goals to set us up for the victory.”
Marissa Callaghan, Cliftonville
“Glentoran overloaded us in the first half and we didn’t know how to deal with them.
“They showed a winning mentality and they took their chances - but the players and coaches were really disappointed at half-time.
“The second half was about trying to get back into the game and improve our game, which we did but it was not good enough and we know we need to step it up.
“We will take it on the chin as you learn more from defeat than when you are winning.
“We will analyse this, regroup and fix what we need to fix.”
Derry City Women 1-4 Linfield Ladies
Katie Dickson, Linfield
“We didn’t really get into the game until the 15-minute mark - when we went a goal down it was a bit of a shock to us.
“Once we conceded it sort of woke us up and we responded very quickly, then when we got back to 1-1 we settled and it got rid of the nerves.
“We started to play really good football, playing one-touch passing and dominating the game.”
Crusaders Strikers 2-1 Sion Swifts Ladies
Danielle McDowell, Crusaders
“The game was really competitive and Sion made us work very hard.
“It was a really scrappy game at times but thankfully we were able to keep fighting and pushing until the end.
“We had a lot of teenagers playing tonight and they were absolutely fantastic - we did what we needed to do to win the game.”
