Banbridge Town have announced the appointment of Frankie Wilson as the new manager at Crystal Park.

Wilson steps into the hotseat at the Premier Intermediate League side to replace Stuart King who recently vacated the role to take over the reins at Carrick Rangers. He will be assisted by former Town centre-back Simon Nicks.

The 50-year-old brings bags of experience to the position. Currently manager of the Northern Ireland U18 Schoolboys side, he has also been in charge of Sport & Leisure Swifts, Lurgan Celtic and Bangor over the years.

As a player Wilson was a defender for Cliftonville, Carrick Rangers, Ballyclare Comrades, Omagh Town and Bangor.

Speaking to club media, he said: "I can't wait to get stuck into the job, Banbridge are a good and well respected club and my aim is to get them back up to the level were they regularly competed for many years.

"Crystal Park is a superb little ground and hopefully with the help of everyone involved at the club we will give the fans a reason to come out in numbers to support us."
