Cliftonville Ladies' Marissa Callaghan is the NIFWA Danske Bank Women’s Premiership Player of the Month for May.

The Northern Ireland captain helped the Reds to four wins from four games in the month of May, as the North Belfast club raced to the top of the table. In May, the midfielder found the net against both Sion Swifts Ladies and Linfield Ladies.

Callaghan said: “We have had a great start to the season. Our new coaching team have created a winning culture at the club and all the girls have bought into it.

“I’m delighted to be named Player of the Month, but in all honesty every player deserves a trophy because our good start to the season has been a team effort. We have a very young team. It’s my job to help them fulfil their potential.”
