Linfield boss David Healy has been named Manager of the Month for May by the Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association.

May proved to be an historic month for Linfield, as they wrapped up both the Danske Bank Premiership and the Peaky Blinder Irish Cup. The highlight of the month was their 2-1 cup final win over Larne at Mourneview Park.

David Healy said: “I'm delighted to win the award and would like to thank my staff for all they have done in a very tough season. I’d also like to thank the Northern Ireland Football Writers’ for their consideration.

"I always think when you receive the Manager of the Month award that it is more a reflection of what your team has done on the pitch, but I'm pleased to win the award and particularly pleased to win the award for May, because that would suggest a successful season."

It’s not the only accolade Northern Ireland’s record goalscorer has collected in recent days. Last week, he was named Aktivora Manager of the Year.
