Ballymena United defender Kofi Balmer captained Northern Ireland U21s to victory over Scotland today in a behind closed doors training game at Dumbarton.
Andy Crosby's squad are in Scotland for a week long training camp to kick off their preparations for the forthcoming Euro qualifiers in the autumn, and will face their hosts in a couple of games whilst they are there with the second taking place on Saturday.
The first this afternoon saw Northern Ireland emerge 2-1 victors with Balmer leading the side out alongside the only other Danske Bank Premiership starter, Linfield's Cameron Palmer.
Former Linfield starlet Dale Taylor, now at Nottingham Forest, opened the scoring and then provided the assist for Barry Baggley to restore Northern Ireland's lead after the Scots had levelled from the spot through Glenn Middleton.
In addition to Balmer and Palmer, Trai Hume and Dungannon Swifts midfielder Oisin Smyth - making his debut - also got some game time in the second half.
