It was another thrilling week of Danske Bank Women’s Premiership action with 13 goals flying in across the three matches.

There is a real title race developing at the top and both Glentoran and Cliftonville picked up impressive wins on Wednesday, while Sion Swifts continued their strong form by edging out Linfield by the odd goal.

Here is the reaction from the winning camps.

Jess Foy, Glentoran
“We were delighted to get the three points - we started a bit slow and whilst we were creating chances, we weren’t being clinical.

“In the second half we played to our strengths - getting the ball wide, using our pace and getting in behind the Crusaders defence.

“Once the first one went in we got a bit of momentum and confidence to push on.

“It is starting to click for us now, we have played a few games together now and we have a real understanding.

“There is a lot of hard work in training together and individually so now we are seeing the benefits of that.”

Tasmin McCarter, Sion Swifts
“The girls showed so much character, having been 1-0 down to come back and get the three points.

“We knew that if we had a bit of fight we could get back into it, especially after a first half in which we were quite poor.

“But we got ourselves back into the game and then pushed on to get the winner.”

Erin Montgomery, Cliftonville
“I thought it went really well especially after the defeat to the Glens last week in the cup, it was important to bounce back.

“Derry always give us a hard game and you have to battle!

“I can’t even remember the header - I just reacted to stuck my head on it and it went in, then the second goal of mine was a volley so it was good for me to get two goals and for the team to score six.”
