NIFL Board Chairman Gerard Lawlor has provided an update on operations at the NI Football League.
“Today (Friday) marks the final day of outgoing Managing Director Andrew Johnston’s time with the NI Football League, after seven successful years with the company.”
“On behalf of everyone at NIFL, I want to wish Andy all the best for the future and good luck in his new role as Head of Competitions and Player Status at the Irish FA.”
“Andy has played a vital role in the success of NIFL and I commend and thank him for his commitment, dedication & passion for the league as we have been so fortunate to have him on board & lead the team through a period of substantial growth of Irish League football.”
“However, this departure also allows us opportunity within the organisation, as has been reported previously, for the Board plan to look at a review of NIFL over the next few months and staffing and resource will form a key element of that review.”
“In the interim period the NIFL Board have asked our Development Manager, Steven Mills, to take up the position of Interim Manging Director and lead our existing team through the coming weeks and months. I am sure you join me in wishing all the team our support and best wishes, as we work together throughout 2021.”
