Glentoran were edged out 1-0 by Swiss champions Servette in their Champions League qualification match in Finland on Wednesday.
Guinea Ecuatorial international Jade Boho’s goal in the first minute was enough to separate the sides as the Glens produced a spirited display but ultimately were not able to find an equaliser.
Boho beat goalkeeper Ashley McKinnon from close range within the opening minute as the Glens got off to the worst possible start.
Boho - a danger throughout - almost doubled her personally tally as she had a backheeled effort cleared off the line before international Natalia Padilla hit the post for the Swiss side.
The East Belfast side pushed high up the pitch for large periods of the game but were unable to create many clear-cut chances, although Joely Andrews went close at the end of the first half.
Ines Pereira produced a magnificent save to deny Andrews, who had been wonderfully assisted by Lauren Wade.
