Colin Kennedy has been appointed as the new Chairman of the NI Football League Board following Thursday night’s Annual General Meeting.

Colin has been an independent director of the NI Football League from 2015 and has been vice-Chairman for the last year. He now takes office with immediate effect.

Born in Belfast, Colin has enjoyed a distinguished professional career holding Chief Executive roles within the private and voluntary sectors.

Speaking of his appointment, Colin stated, “I am honoured to be appointed as Chairman of the NIFL Board. Despite the recent challenges faced by the league, I am hugely excited and optimistic about the future and the opportunities to showcase the NI Football League. I look forward to working alongside our first ever Chief Executive Officer and my fellow NIFL Board.”

In addition to his professional roles, Colin currently is appointed to several non-executive and regulatory roles. Arguably most important, on a personal level, is his role as the Chairman of Jordan’s Gift, a local Charity, set up in memory of his son.

Within football, Colin previously officiated as an Intermediate level referee and as an assistant referee at senior level in Northern Ireland”

Colin Kennedy will be supported by Knockbreda’s Colin Russell as vice-Chairman of the NIFL Board.
