Linfield face a challenge if they are to progress in the UEFA Conference League following a 2-1 home defeat to Fola Esch from Luxembourg.
It all started so well for the Blues when, as early as the ninth minute, loanee Billy Chadwick fired them in front with a composed finish past Emanuel Cabral after dispossessing Julien Klein.
Linfield held the advantage for an hour before the visitors levelled through Stefano Bensi with a curled finish into the top corner after being teed up by Bruno Frere.
Then, a couple of minutes from time, substitute Gauthier Caron handed the Luxembourg champions the win on the night after smashing home the rebound from a Bensi effort which Chris Johns did to tip onto the post.
The sides meet again in Luxembourg next Thursday evening.
