BALLYMENA United boss David Jeffrey is the NIFWA Manager of the Month for March.

It’s the 37th time the former Linfield manager has won the prestigious trophy. Jeffrey’s Ballymena finished the month unbeaten with victories over Glentoran, Portadown, Linfield, Dungannon Swifts and Carrick Rangers.

A delighted Jeffrey said: “It’s an honour to be named Manager of the Month. Although it’s an individual award I must give credit to my backroom staff who have worked tirelessly during this hectic period of fixtures.

“March was a remarkable month with nine league fixtures. I rotated my team as much as possible during the month, but I still had to ask a lot of my players. Thankfully, they responded well to our demands and produced some fantastic performances.”

It’s the fifth time David Jeffrey has won the monthly award during his tenure at the Ballymena Showgrounds.
