Ballyclare Comrades manager Paul Harbinson has wasted no time strengthening his squad in preparation for the 2020/21 campaign with the announcement of no fewer than six imminent arrivals at Dixon Park.
Harbinson has called on the experience of James McCabe and Jason Johnston, both of whom have signed from Ballymena Saturday Morning League side Ahoghill Thistle.
Johnston (23) is a former fans favourite from his previous stints up front at Ballyclare whilst the 27-year-old McCabe is an intelligent striker who will bring strength and experience to the attacking options having been with Ballymena United and Larne earlier in his career.
Also amongst those making the move are Ross Holden who joins from fellow Bluefin Sport Championship club Dundela. An attacking player who loves to run with the ball, Holden (22) made 31 appearances (4 goals) for the Duns last season and prior to that was on Crusaders' books for a number of seasons.
Ashton McDermott (28) makes the switch from Premier Intermediate League side Bangor and brings a wealth of experience from both the Premiership and Championship after previous spells with Carrick Rangers and PSNI.
And making the step up from the Amateur League are Elliot McKim and Gareth McGuinness. McKim (25), a towering centre-half, comes from Nortel while McGuinness (20) possesses an attacking flair that helped Greenisland reach the Junior Cup final in 2018.
