Coleraine manager Oran Kearney has moved to bring Ronan Wilson to The Showgrounds on a two-year contract.
The 21-year-old midfielder arrives on the Ballycastle Road after the Reds made him available to other clubs earlier this month. He made 20 appearances last season across all competitions for Cliftonville, having previously spent two years with Institute.
Kearney was pleased to get his man after tracking his progress for a number of seasons.
“Ronan was on our radar a few years ago when he was at Institute,” he told the official Coleraine website.
“He went to Cliftonville but it just didn’t happen for him. The ages of 19, 20, 21 is a critical period for any young player’s career and it is important to get game time.
“He is a central midfielder by trade but he has a huge amount of versatility and it’s documented that we don’t have the biggest squad, so that added depth is crucial. His age, profile and energy levels means he will be a really good acquisition for us.”
