Newry City manager Darren Mullen has strengthened his panel by signing a couple of recent trialists who have returned to Ireland after a stint playing in New Zealand.
After impressing in recent friendlies Mullen has secured Conor O'Keeffe and Stephen Lawless for the forthcoming season.
O'Keeffe, 26, was formerly with Drogheda United and Wexford Youths but moved to New Zealand in 2016 to play for Dunedin based club Southern United, firmly establishing himself as an almost ever present at right back and becoming club captain during his second season.
Similarly, 26-year-old midfielder Lawless was most recently with Southern, making the move in August last year after also signing from Wexford, initially going as Strength and Conditioning Coach before joining the playing staff in January and making eight appearances before the suspension of the league season.
Both players returned north in July and after spending time in quarantine were snapped up by Mullen after the League of Ireland transfer window closed.
