Loughgall legend Hilbert Willis is drawing inspiration from Captain Tom to help raise money for the Championship club.
Following the example of Captain Thomas Moore who set out to walk laps of his garden at 99 in aid of NHS Charities Together. Hilbert has a similar fundraiser in mind.
The 96 year old has served his local club for over five decades in various roles as chairman, groundsman and committee member.
Now he is taking the challenge of walking 100 lengths of his beloved Lakeview Park pitch to help raise much needed funds for Loughgall during such a difficult time for sports clubs due to the coronavirus pandemic and following a six figure outlay on ground improvements to secure an IFA promotion licence.
Hilbert’s plan is to start on Saturday 15th August and reach his 100 length target as quickly as possible.
He will have friends and family offering support along the way and anyone interested in donating towards Hilbert’s goal can do so by clicking here.
