Glentoran manager Mick McDermott has brought further international talent to The Oval in the form of Gael Bigirimana and Dayle Coleing on what was a busy day for the Irish Cup holders.

Bigirimana, 26, was most recently with National League side Solihull Moors but brings with him a wealth of experience having made 150+ appearances at various levels in England and Scotland, including 24 first team outings for Newcastle United. His former clubs also include Coventry City, Motherwell and Hibernian.

In addition, the midfielder is a former youth cap for England and has 13 full international caps for Burundi.

Coleing arrives from Europa FC in his native Gibraltar. The 23-year-old keeper is another senior international, having made his debut against Denmark in the Euro 2020 qualifiers a year ago.

On top of that, the Glens agreed contract extensions with no fewer than six of last season's squad, including veteran keeper Elliott Morris. Also pledging their futures to the club are Ciaran O'Connor, Steven Gordon, Keith Cowan, Malachy Smith and Cameron Stewart.

However, Elvio van Overbeek is leaving The Oval after a year in East Belfast to return to home to Holland.
