Ballymena United striker Aaron Burns has been released from his contract by boss David Jeffrey.
The 28-year-old joined the Sky Blues from Coleraine a year ago, making 11 appearances and scoring once in all competitions last season. Prior to that he had been with Linfield and Portadown.
Speaking about the decision, Jeffrey told the official club website: "As our fans will understand, over the past week we have been taking a review of where we are at, and this obviously means looking at the needs of the club and of individuals. Today I spoke with Aaron Burns and in conversation with him we have agreed to release him with immediate effect.
"I gave Aaron his debut at Linfield, a fabulous player who is at home in midfield and upfront. We brought him here to be a goal scorer but unfortunately it didn't work out the way he or I would have wanted it to be.
"He and I have agreed that it is in his and the clubs best interest for him to be released. We truly wish him all the best, he's a fabulous young man with a tremendous talent and goes forward with our very warmest regards.
"No one will forget the significant role he played last week in getting us to the final, and that being his parting contribution to the club couldn't have been more apt as a lasting memory."
