Bluefin Sport Championship club Ards have come together in the past week to provide vital support for their supporters and the local community with a number of activities.

Coordinated by club chaplain Sam Magill, the County Down club have been at the forefront of the local community with players, officials and supporters collecting for the local Newtownards Foodbank.

Last week, the Ards players and coaches also came together to arrange lunch for NHS staff at the Ulster Hospital, which was delivered by first team player Craig McMillen.

Manager John Bailie has been contacting supporters during this period of isolation to keep in touch, whilst Chaplain Magill has also extended the offer to run errands for supporters not able to do so at the present time.

In a message to supporters, Ards Chairman Brian Adams told the club’s official website; “We wish to help those of you who are struggling and obviously the food bank is indeed one method, however if we can help you by collecting your shopping or carrying out any tasks for you, please contact any director of the club.

“We hope you remain safe and well and look forward to seeing you all when football resumes.”
