Three second half goals helped Linfield to victory over Ballinamallard United in this BetMcLean League Cup tie at Ferney Park.
The Mallards came close as early as the sixth minute when Shane McGinty crossed from the right for Stuart Hutchinson to head over from point blank range.
Aaron Burns missed a great opening after a quarter-of-an-hour but was denied by 'keeper Richard Brush's save with his feet.
The sides continued to trade chances as the first half progressed, Burns testing Brush from close range while Jonathan Leddy saw a low free-kick well saved by Gareth Deane.
Scoreless at the break, Andrew Waterworth almost headed Linfield in front on 54 minutes from close up after a fine run and cross from Ross Clarke.
However, the visitors did seize the advantage four minutes later when Josh Robinson nodded Kirk Millar's corner beyond Brush.
And Millar was provider again just after the hour with a deep cross for Waterworth to head home Linfield's second.
David Healy's side then put the game to bed on 79 minutes with Jordan Stewart's neat back post finish.
