Cliftonville Olympic - George Wilson Cup winners 2012/13

CLIFTONVILLE FC added another piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet for season 2012/13 after their Olympic side defeated Crusaders Reserves on Tuesday night at Seaview, Belfast to win the George Wilson Cup.
Goals from Jody Lynch (2) and Johnny McMurray (2) help secure a third IFA trophy for the North Belfast club.
The final was a very close encounter with the Reds winning 4-3 (Crusaders goals: Darren Bell 2, Ryan McCready 1).
Cliftonville Olympic manager Michael Press commented after the game: "Looking at the Reserve League season as a whole, we got off to a pretty sluggish start with a very young squad.
"The lads took about 2/3 months to find their feet. We only recorded one defeat after Christmas, so the lads deserve a huge amount of credit.
"The final itself was a tight game and I was pleased that both teams fielded genuinely reserve sides and avoided the temptation to use regular first team players.
"In summing up I am very pleased with our season and look forward to building on our success in season 2013/14."
