Second half goals from Aaron Harmon and Josh Daniels guided Glenavon to victory over Linfield in front of the live TV cameras at Mourneview Park.
For Linfield it was a first league defeat since December 1st and that good run of form showed right from the start when Jordan Stewart tested keeper Johnny Tuffey early on only to see his effort from the right pushed over.
Tuffey then tipped a Kyle McClean strike around the post while a Chris Casement free-kick was then turned away at the top corner.
Despite these opportunities the game remained scoreless at the break but all that changed just two minutes into the second half when Aaron Harmon was permitted a bit too much time and space to fire a long range left-foot drive past Gareth Deane at the right post.
Linfield attempted a response through Stewart but his low drive was blocked by Tuffey while Niall Quinn was similarly denied.
And the visitors came close again when Andy Waterworth turned inside the area to offer up a low shot only for the ball to strike an upright.
Casement then had a go but, again, Tuffey was on hand to keep the league leaders out before substitute Marek Cervenka found himself through one-on-one with Tuffey only to come off second best.
However, a defensive lapse at the other end with time running out allowed Daniels in to slide a second goal past Deane to put the game to bed.
