QUICK FIRE THREE SECURES POINTS FOR CRUES

Crusaders came from a goal down to collect all three points from this Tuesday night visit to Warrenpoint Town.

During a quiet opening period Crusaders enjoyed the better of what opportunities were created with Rory Patterson, Ronan Hale and Kyle Owens all having half chances.

However, as the first half progressed, Warrenpoint looked the more likely to find a way through, almost managing it after half-an-hour through Conall NcGrandles but hs header was cleared off the line by Matthew Snoddy.

But 'Point did make the breakthrough in stoppage time at the end of the first half courtesy of Lee Duffy's low free-kick which crept past Sean O'Neill at the near post.

The Crues began the second half in determined mood with only a timely tackle denying Ronan Hale from equalising before Snoddy sidefooted an effort just wide.

Then, around the hour, Town keeper Berraat Türker was called into action to punch away a David Cushley corner, followed soon after by a Jordan Owens header over.

Somewhat inevitably Stephen Baxter's side eventually levelled on 68 minutes when Snoddy despatched a half volley past Türker at the near post before, moments later, Billy Joe Burns swivelled inside the box to meet a throw-in to fire across the home keeper into the corner of the net.

Then, on 77 minutes, the Crues goal blitz was complete when the unfortunate Simon Kelly headed into his own net whilst attempt to clear an Owens effort.
