Ahead of the forthcoming UEFA Champions and Europa League draws three of Northern Ireland's representatives are in action this Saturday against their fellow European qualifiers from the Dafabet Welsh Premier League.

Danske Bank Premiership champions Linfield travel to the principality to face Bala Town at Maes Tegid (kick-off 2pm).

Bala ended the season on a high, winning the Welsh Cup for the first time in their history following victory over The New Saints in the decider. 

Meanwhile, Bangor City and Connah's Quay Nomads are coming in the opposite direction to face Ballymena United and Coleraine.

The Sky Blues host Connah's Quay at Dixon Park, Ballyclare (2pm). Managed by former Manchester City captain Andy Morrison, the Nomads finished runners-up in the campaign just finished and defeated Norwegian side Stabæk in last season's Europa League.

Coleraine, fresh from a behind closed doors friendly in Glasgow against Rangers, welcome the Citizens to The Showgrounds, kick-off 1pm. Bangor qualified for the Europa League after beating Cardiff Met 1-0 in the Welsh Premier League play-off final.

These games are designed to provide meaningful challenges to assist member clubs to perform as well as possible in European club competition.

Welcoming the initiative Gwyn Derfel, Dafabet Welsh Premier League Secretary commented: "Both countries have recognised that the standards of our respective leagues will be judged to a large extent by our performances on the European stage and I'm really pleased that the pro-active relationship between ourselves and NIFL has resulted in meaningful preparation matches which will assist the teams to do as well as possible in both European competitions."

Andrew Johnston, NIFL Managing Director added: "The NIFL are delighted to link up with our counterparts from the Dafabet Welsh Premier League on projects for the development of both leagues. This particular initiative should provide a valuable platform for clubs from both leagues to enhance their preparations for European Club Competitions."

Bala Town v. LINFIELD - Maes Tegid, Bala (2pm)
BALLYMENA UNITED v. Connah's Quay Nomads - Dixon Park, Ballyclare (2pm)
COLERAINE v. Bangor City - The Showgrounds, Coleraine (1pm)

The series continues next Saturday when Bala Town visit Seaview to face Crusaders (2pm).
