O'CONNOR MAKES ROI UNDER-21 DEBUT

Linfield forward Michael O’Connor won his first cap for the Republic of Ireland Under-21’s in their 3-0 win over Luxembourg.

O’Connor came on as a late substitute on Sunday in Stephen Kenny’s first game in charge of the Under-21 team at Tallaght Stadium in front of a 4,772.

Adam Idah (Norwich City) scored twice and UCD forward Neil Farrugia also scored as Republic of Ireland won their first game of their UEFA Under-21 2021 European Championships qualifying campaign.

The forward missed his side’s 5-0 victory over Dungannon Swifts in the Danske Bank Premiership on Friday evening, live on BBC Two NI. He returns for the post-split run-in, starting with the trip to Ballymena United on Friday 5 April.
