O'CONNOR AND COOPER ON TARGET FOR BLUES

Linfield held onto their unbeaten record after coming from behind to claim a home win over Ballymena United.

Cathair Friel edged Ballymena United in front after 12 minutes. Leroy Millar's corner from the left fell for him on the edge of the six-yard box with his header going in at the far post through a crowd of players.

The visitors might have doubled their advantage soon after when Andy McGrory got on the end of a Steven McCullough left-sided cross but could only head just over.

Linfield levelled after half-an-hour through Michael O'Connor after he bunded the ball over the line from close range after Matthew Clarke sent a low cross over.

The Blues then extended their advantage on 57 minutes with a superb finish from Joel Cooper who took a couple of touches before unleashing a right-foot effort beyond the reach of Ross Glendinning.

David Healy's side looked to add to their lead later in the game with Chris Casement seeing an ambitious effort go just wide before Kirk Millar had a header well saved by Glendinning.
