NO DREAM BEGINNING FOR MCAREE

CRUSADERS moved up a place to fifth with this defeat of Rodney McAree's Dungannon Swifts at Seaview.

The opening 45 minutes were largely bereft of decent scoring opportunities apart from a 30th minute Dermot McCaffrey header which Crues 'keeper Sean O'Neill needed to meet with a full stretch dive to turn around the post.

But it was left to a former Swift, Timmy Adamson, to break the deadlock on 50 minutes after he made the most of a bout of indecision in the visiting defence to turn home a David Rainey cross.

Stuart Dallas made sure of the points for Crusaders on 86 minutes after great work by Matthew Snoddy put Rainey clear to unselfishly cross for his team-mate to head into the empty net.
