Linfield defender Joshua Robinson collects the Belleek trophy from NIFWA Chairman Keith Bailie.

Linfield defender Joshua Robinson is February's NIFWA Premiership Player of the Month.

Robinson helped Linfield to League Cup, playing a vital role in the Blues' 1-0 win over Ballymena United in the final. He also played in league wins over Coleraine, Ballymena United and Newry City.

Upon collecting the Belleek trophy, Robinson said, "I'm delighted that I was selected for this award, it means a lot to me. It's been a fantastic month for us, winning the League Cup and stretching our lead at the top of the league. As a defender, keeping three clean sheets in the month was very satisfying but it's a team effort.

"There's a great spirit in the changing room but when it comes to the league no one is taking anything for granted. We will just keep our feet on the ground and take each game as it comes."

With David Healy winning the Manager of the Month award, Linfield have completed the NIFWA double for the second month running. In January, Healy won the manager's award with Jimmy Callacher taking the Player of the Month title.

This month, Crusaders star David Cushley was second with Darren Murray of Glentoran third.
