Stephen Murray helped himself to the match ball with a hat-trick in Glenavon's victory over Institute at the Brandywell.
The Lurgan Blues moved in front after ten minutes through Andy Hall. Josh Daniels floated the ball into the area from the left with Hall on hand to get enough of a touch to divert it past keeper Martin Gallagher.
After that Murray took over the scoring. He doubled Glenavon's advantage on 21 minutes after controlling the ball well from a long past before sending a speculative effort beyond Gallagher into the opposite corner from the right flank.
Hall might have added a third just after the half-hour mark with a fierce low range shot which Gallagher gathered at the second attempt while, at the other end, Michael McCrudden tested Johnny Tuffey with a strong shot from Stephen Curry's left-sided cross.
But Murray fired Gary Hamilton's side into an even more commanding lead on 38 minutes with a superb curling drive into the top corner from around 30 yards out.
'Stute were handed a glimmer of hope not long after, however, when Darren Henderson beat Tuffey second time around after his initial attempt from a Michael McCrudden through ball had been saved.
After the break Murray headed just over from an Andy Mitchell cross while, for Institute, Stephen Curry finished just wide after some great play.
Then, with nine minutes left, Murray completed his hat-trick in truly confident fashion with a cheeky backheel from Hall's cross from the right.
