Glenavon and Institute settled for a point apiece from this entertaining six-goal encounter at Mourneview Park.
Stephen Murray opened the scoring for Glenavon after six minutes. He was played through by Andy Mitchell to slide the ball home from eight yards.
However, Institute levelled just a couple of minutes after that through Joe McCready's poked finish after Aaron Harkin had found him on his right side.
Paddy McLaughlin's side then grabbed the advantage themselves on 24 minutes courtesy of Mark Scoltock's downward header from another Harkin set piece from the right.
Back came Glenavon on 36 minutes when Mitchell linked up with Andy Hall out on the right before getting the final touch to steer the ball over the line past Martin Gallagher.
Then, ten minutes into the second half, 'Stute bagged their third of the game to go back in front after Ronan Doherty touched a backheel into the path of skipper Michael McCrudden who then took the ball into the box to guide a finish past Johnny Tuffey.
Play switched from end to end after this. Mitchell saw a header go agonisingly over while Caoimhin Bonner was thwarted on the line before a Sammy Clingan long range effort met a similar fate.
But 'Stute were denied a maximum return from the game just three minutes from time through substitute Conor McCloskey who raced in at the back post to turn home a Rhys Marshall ball which had been flicked on Jordan Jenkins.
