Crusaders will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the Gibson Cup following this Easter defeat at Shamrock Park.

Timmy Adamson might have crafted an early opener for the Crues when, on five minutes, he got on the end of a Richard Clarke through ball only for his touch to let him down.

At the other end Peter McMahon threatened for the Ports with only a perfectly timed Craig McClean tackle preventing him from bearing down on goal.

Unfortunately chances were at a premium with both sides restricted generally to long range efforts which failed to trouble either 'keeper.

But, with nine minutes remaining, McMahon squandered a great opportunity to fire the Ports in front only to fire over unmarked from a Sean Mackle cross.

Then, four minutes after that, Tim Mouncey fired the Ports in front after getting his head to a Mackle cross.

Moments later at the other end Richard Clarke almost levelled for the Crues only for his ball to be nodded onto the bar by Ports defender Jordan Lyttle.
