Two Kirk Millar goals fired Linfield to victory in their Europa League Third Qualifying Round First Leg tie against FK Sutjeska in Montenegro.

The result leaves the Blues in a strong position ahead of the return next Tuesday evening at Windsor Park with a place in the play-offs in sight.

However, Linfield didn't get off to the best start when they fell behind after 11 minutes after Damir Kojašević beat Rohan Ferguson with a curling free-kick from the edge of the area.

Shayne Lavery went close to levelling around the half-hour mark while, at the other end, Mark Stafford did well to block an effort on the line.

But the Blues did equalise with seven minutes of the first half remaining courtesy of Millar's follow up after Lavery saw one shot blocked and then saved by the home keeper.

Lavery also proved a threat after the break forcing the keeper into turning a shot behind for a corner just after the hour.

That preceeded Millar's second of the evening and Linfield's winner when he dinked Vladan Giljen after Bastien Héry had played him into space.
