LATE GOAL FLURRY BUT CRUES COMFORTABLE ON THE ROAD

Crusaders won on the road for the eighth successive game in all competitions with victory over Ards in Bangor.

Matthew Snoddy might have edged the visitors in front with a strong half volley early in proceedings which went just over.

It took the Crues until the 26th minute to open the scoring when Gavin Whyte made no mistake with a header from six yards out after Jordan Forsythe had found him from a free-kick.

That was how it stayed until the 64th minute when Paul Heatley sent an exquisite lob over Harry Doherty after going one-on-one with the 'keeper.

Then, seven minutes after that, Whyte doubled his tally for the afternoon after bursting through the defence to finish in style.

Guillaume Keke pulled one back for Ards in stoppage time with a close range header after connecting with a cross from the right.

However, David Cushley restored Crusaders' three-goal cushion with a 25-yard drive soon after - and there was still time for Kyle Cherry to side foot the ball past Brian Jensen to complete the scoring.
