Joe Gormley helped himself to a second half double as Cliftonville came from behind to defeat Carrick Rangers.

Rangers moved in front as early as the third minute when Eamonn McAllister's corner from the left glanced off the head of Reds defender Aaron Donnelly at the near post and into his own net past Brian Neeson.

Cliftonville might have levelled when Chris Curran saw an effort saw by Harry Doherty before a Rory Donnelly looping shot from the edge of the area came back off an upright.

Moving into the second half it was substitute Gormley who eventually turned the tables in Cliftonville's favour.

He grabbed the equaliser on 66 minutes with a superb solo run through the Carrick defence to show great composure in slotting the ball past Doherty into the bottom corner.

And he doubled his tally with what proved to the winner six minutes from time with a successfully converted spot-kick after Garry Breen had been brought down by Paddy McNally.
