Ballymena United haven't won at Mourneview Park since February 2012 and that run continued today as Gary Hamilton's side cruised to a comfortable victory.

After a largely uneventful opening period, littered with nothing more than half chances, Johnny McMurray came close for Ballymena on 40 minutes with a shot from distance which just sailed over the bar.

Then, not long after that, Jordan Jenkins opened the scoring for Glenavon when he poked the ball into the bottom corner after the United defence failed to clear a Rhys Marshall effort.

Glenavon created a couple of chances early in the second half. Jenkins just failed to get a strong enough connection on a Mark Patton delivery while James Gray was denied by a point blank save from Allen at the back post.

It was 2-0 on 52 minutes, however, when Jenkins volleyed home from six yards after meeting Andy McGrory's cross from the byline.

The game was put beyond any doubt with seven minutes to go after substitute Greg Moorhouse swivelled to score after the ball fell loose from a Marshall run into the box.
